Matt Hardin

Matt Hardin is a young man with the intelligence and charisma that many desire.  His roots in California go back to 1849, when his family came to California, ultimately settling in Pope Valley in 1852.  He is a 6th generation Californian rancher and farmer, and his family has been growing grapes in the Pope Valley since the 1800's.  In fact, one of his forefathers (a Wallace) had his winery on the original Heibel Ranch over a century ago.   Matt also has a deep connection with the Napa Valley as well, his mother Patty, is a Rutherford, yes like the town! 

Matt is a civilized “country boy” and is as comfortable in the seat of a tractor as he is sitting in seat at the French Laundry.  After graduating from St. Helena High School in 2001, he entered Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where he majored in Agricultural Sciences and earned minors in Enology & Viticulture and Agricultural Business.  Matt is currently employed by Barbour Vineyards, one of Napa Valley's elite farming companies.  He became the vineyard manager for Heibel Ranch Vineyards in 2008.  We feel fortunate to have him on board and are excited about the local faming insights that he possesses.
